OpenBrewComp
OpenBrewComp is a web-based program to run a homebrew (beer/mead/cider) competition that follows the BJCP guidelines. OpenBrewComp is more than just an online registration system for entries. It fully automates the competition process itself, except for the actual judging and data entry. Please refer to the list of features for full details.
OpenBrewComp grew out of the online registration system that was built for the 2007 Dixie Cup Homebrew Competition and later expanded into a complete system for running the competition in 2008. See the history page for more detail on the evolution of OpenBrewComp.
What’s All This Then?
This site is a demo of the OpenBrewComp system, designed to show you its features and capabilities without requiring you to install it on your own system just to evaluate it for use in your homebrew competition.
Although this demo version has been modified slightly so that it can function better as a demonstration site, the underlying functionality is unchanged. For example, you won't find any competition rules or shipping information, the competition dates are subject to periodic change, no emails are actually sent to judges, the database is periodically reloaded, and some data, such as the site contact information, is protected against modification.
All of the initial data for entrants and judges is fake, so don't expect to be able to track down any real people. As they say in the movies, the persons listed on this site are fictious and any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. This does not, of course, prevent you from entering your own legitimate information, but there’s no good reason to do so.
